I I think it would be a good idea to have a "Teens Only" form, similar to the Adults form where you must get a special password to access it. The reason I think this is needed because I have noticed that more and more of the topics of the poetry on Teen poetry is not suitable for people who are under 13 or people who are not mature enough to read the content. I think it would be a good idea and I hope you consider it.

Just a suggestion,

Linc,

That's why we have moderators. We are here to remove anything that is deemed not allowable in the forum. Thanks for sharing your ideas.....

Its not a problem of the topics being unacceptable in the pip guidelines, it just that some people (immature people) find the topics not to be unacceptable or they are too young to hanndle them.

I don't know if that would work much.

Linc, in that age bracket, it's pretty hard to determine who is mature enough or not.

No, Linc has a point. Some of the stuff we post in there is unacceptable for anyone below the teen years. But I don't know if we can easily remedy this...
Maybe we should p/w Teen Explorer? Just a thought.

I tend to agree with Linc.
I understand where he is coming from.  I also think that one of the main problems is that teens these days (and I find especially in Passions) are mature beyond their years.  This brings up the problem that they are obviously going to write things that maybe a litte "over the heads" of some others in the forum.  And while the moderators do a wondeful job I think we need to take a step back and look at the issue from a wide veiw.  Last year I got a poem sniped from passions due to its "unsuitable material" I myself didn't think it was that bad.  And how far are we supposed to go before everything we write becomes unsuitable.  I mean, we're 16-18 year olds with mentality's of 23+.  However, because we are still "teenagers" we're not allowed into "adult" forums and find ourselves thrown out of basically every where.
I just think that it's an idea that should be seriously thought about.

It's a good idea Linc.

I would never presume to speak "for" Ron - but what I can do, is hopefully point you to a link that you might find interesting, and that contains discussions (stating Ron's viewpoint, among others') regarding topics like this.  It's also a great source of information on various other topics as well.

I'll agree with Linc.  After reading that thread with the teen and the adults arguing over why that particula thread had to be closed, it got me thinking.  The adults have thir own forum where they can post whatever they would like without anyone reading it who possibly shouldn't be reading it.  I think we deserve that chance as well.  Thanks, Linc, for bringing this suggestion up.  It's a good one.

Well I disagree.
The age group is far to diverse.
If we do make a new, p/w protected forum, we are going to allow more mature material here than we do in teen4, right?  that is the idea I think.  This means extending the guidelines that already exist.  Considering the guidelines that exist, what would you like to be extended, and who says that a 13 year old is mature enough for the subject matter.  Unless you are suggesting that the current guide lines become more restricted and use the guidelines we have now for the new forum.  In this case all the open forums would have to restrict their guide lines and make a protected forum as well.  I think that the a new forum won't work
Just my opinion
Jason

FYI: adults cannot post "whatever they want" in the Adult forum. Save for erotica, the same guidelines that apply to the rest of the forums apply to the Adult forum.
