It would be nice if you could make it so it only lists originating threads when searching for a person. When im looking for poetry by a specific person, I keep running into threads by others which the person in question merely replied to |

Yes, Ron, is that possible ? I tried it too, but gave up after a while when all the "replies to others" came with it. It would be great if you could change that.  |

Ron, would it be possible for the search feature to pull the most recent posts? With the numbers growing and some reaching new heights ... I'd really like to see it pull the more recent ones, especially when there are over 200 posts to an author. Thanks. |

This topic has been previously discussed here, without ever really coming to a conclusion. There are three possibilities. One is to index only originating posts, not replies, which solves this problem AND will make the forums faster (especially searching). Two is to completely rewrite the search program so we have the option of doing an either/or search, which will unfortunately also slow down the system. Three, of course, is to continue ignoring the problem. I've opted for number one (at least in the short term). As of this morning, the search feature will no longer index or find the text of any replies. Only originating posts. This is a test, and we'll see how everyone feels about it. There are potential problems, especially for our Moderators (who often need the ability to track replies as well as originating posts). Basically, we'll try this for a while and see how it goes... |

I guess I'm in the minority then... but I'd sure like to have it left where it pulls all posts OR the option to do either. I use it daily... or did till today. |

While "either/or" is obviously the most desirable, we definitely are looking for poets' originating posts more frequently than their responses.... so - let's try this test on for size.....  |
