I have a suggestion for a new forum. How about a Passion’s Policy Forum? Each forum would have a separate thread (ie: Open Forum – no need for separate threads for any Open Forum, but mention should be made of the Open #1, #2, #3). The thread would contain the policies, rules, etc. for a particular forum (expanded from the explanation shown on each Forum now). The thread would be closed to comments.

We could refer members to this forum for clarification of the way we conduct ourselves here..how to post..where to post what…the limitations, etc. The Rules noted when you register would be plainly viewable at all times then. Perhaps for the first two weeks, we should have a thread for each forum in the Alley for open discussion and input from members of what each thread should contain, then when the policies are perfected to everyone’s satisfaction, they will be posted in the Policy Forum.

A ‘Hints’ thread could also be posted – hints such as : How to view a profile. What’s ICQ. This thread could be open, but would I think it would be better if only the Moderator has access to update it.

What do you think?

And it should probably be placed right at the top.

I really like this idea; I am in teen #2 a lot, and I am reminding new members not to multiple post a lot. Some people think I am trying to insult them, or am acting like I am better than everyone......

I think this would really help. It would also eliminate some of the more basic question found in the Q and A forum.

Thinking is just what a great many people think they are doing when they are merely rearranging their predjudices.

Of course, a "Forum Lurker's Guide" is in order - and - Each forum does have its own flavor, so there are varied guidelines for each as well. The idea of putting these guidelines in an obvious place is a good one. New (and old) members need to be able to consult them at will.

The only problem I envision with a separate forum for such important information is that the forums show each member a history of posts over a specified number of days. Beyond those days, people may wonder why there are no visible postings from their terminal. I agree wholeheartedly with the plan - but I think we need a more prevalent location for the info...

Perhaps a regenerating Forum....one that updates itself? Keeps changing the date?

Probably a great idea! And the hints would be helpful too...as in; "Toerag, get a life!" or, "Toerag, you don't have to rhyme in the alley yanno?"....

Yanno? A seperate forum for "Bashing Balladeer" would be quite nice?j

I believe, (seriously), this is a great idea Ms. deVine....and with the expertise so many of you highly paid moderators have, I know it would be done professionally. Wish I knew enough 'bout this kinda stuff to assist or offer suggestions.....but I don't...but I do know how to agree?

Toe, perhaps you could start an Advice Forum? We could dump all our troubles at your feet(toe) and you could give us wise(crack) answers! LOL....

I think Toe should get a website of his own for that! It would be too distracting here... I'd never get any writing done!! LOL
