As I said in the post, that was the *initial* plan - though it's always subject to change. But right now, to be honest, I'm not sure I see any need to change it. I won't be pursuing the book any farther until both the main site and the forums are updated (which means we'll be accepting poems again), and once I start work on it again, it will take at least a month, probably several, to get the e-commerce and everything else in place. Plenty of time for some votes to accumulate.

I think there's plenty of time - and plenty of room - for everyone. Do those who were posting at Passions a year ago have a head start? Sure, they do! But without those people there wouldn't be a Passions or the Passionate Forums that followed it. Nan once accused me (jokingly) of being very protective of those who helped start Passions. And she was absolutely right, just as I'll always feel gratitude and loyalty to those of you who have made the Forums what they are today.

This isn't a competition. There's room for everyone, and plenty of time. I firmly believe we have some of the best poets in the world posting in these forums, and it won't take long for the visitors at Passions to corroborate that!

Oh, and let me add a comment about the "time to accumulate and edit the new posts" part of your question. That button I mentioned will not appear next to the posts of new members. And I fully expect the poetry submitted by our senior members to require very little in the way of editing!

Oh Geez, now I'm hoping to become a senior member...while dying my graying hair!

Your responses were great, Ron, and I sincerely appreciate the time you took to answer my questions. I especially like when I've given YOU some food for thought and get comebacks like: Cool idea... or whatever it was you said.

Looking forward to reading more on this subject.

Oh, I love the idea of a book! I'm quivering with anticipation... If you started publishing book(s) You count on me to buy them!

As more of a prose writer, I'm curious to if this book will be just poetry, or other writing too?

If there's someway to help, I'd love to try!

What a great idea. I can see that you've already put a ton of time and effort into this, Ron. You seem to have a lot of answers already. I loved the part about having hometown papers do a bit of the marketing and the book signings.

I have a friend in the marketing business who also owns a couple of area magazines. If that can be helpful in anyway, let me know!

Would someone direct me as how to submit to the main site? I have wondered that for a while but with the upgrading and changes I have not asked.

Thanks...

Hi, Marilyn! I don't believe that Passions is accepting new poems yet. It hasn't for a couple of months or so now! Soon I hope!

I await the chance to submit there...*S*...would someone inform me how to do this when it is ready? Please e-mail me at marilyn@oosterveld.org. Any mail for me will get to me there. I am intending on switching servers very shortly and wouldn't want to miss any mail.
