Finding You

I wrote you a letter yesterday,
Rolled it up like a scroll.
Using ribbons of paper mache',
I tied it with my soul.

I sprayed it with "Eternity".
Slipped "Our" picture inside.
With every dream of you and me,
And all my hope that's died.

Then tied it to another string,
A helium balloon.
Waited to hear the night birds sing,
Then went to face the moon.

The stars were bright and shining
And I knew one held my wish -
As my letter held my heart's pining,
So I sealed it with a kiss.

With a sigh, I looked up to the sky,
Touched the letter with a tear.
Let the balloon fly, wiping my eye,
I watched it "disappear".

Knowing long as Heaven holds a star,
So my love for you holds true.
Wishing no matter where you are,
My words are finding you.

May Darkness find you all through the day.

Wow, so sad and hearfelt. This was beautifully done! You brought across missing someone really well! That star will catch your wish, and soon all will be well!

Hey, Michael, you got a better chance with that balloon than with the US Postal Service!

Excellent poem.

Very well written, great way to paint your emotional picture. I can feel it all the way over here... And I think I might have seen that baloon one night...

ah, to be in her shoes and to be loved like this!

It matters not how strait the gate;
How charged with punishments the scroll;
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
