The Coronation

Late summer will spread its resplendent canopy,
the sun's rays lasering a prismatic display
igniting nuances of color in each tree,
mind-boggling sated eyes, Fall beauty has its day!

Crimson reds and russets, yellow gold from the churn,
azure blue of the sky, orange fire soon to burn,
chlorophyll emeralds, different shades of brown,
so dazzling a melange, is autumn's brief renown.

Beautiful, her last days, more lovely in some ways
than the Spring's explosion of new life; she conveys
dignity's awareness of a cycle that's blessed,
abundant, prosperous, regaling before rest.

Hosannah, Deity, this grandiose largesse
yearning eyes lived to see, Fall's multicolored dress,
for the sun whose brilliance highlights a gaudy scene,
for Mother Nature's coronation of her queen!

This has the deep, romantic posture of "old poetry...", the kind that lived before us, and lives on.

Very well done, Sir. My thanks.
