I got you here under false pretenses but if you did sneak a peek, answer with a tiny little yes....it's a survey to find out how many people actually read poems with titles of "please read"

and don't blame me, blame Christopher, it was he who brought it up..

HUGS all

ROFG yep, that's giggling...

ok will give you a boost also, but you get a yes and a no for your answer, depends on how much time I have...I do understand when someone needs to have a poem read and commented to.....although as I come to know this site, I think it could be better used if people would use all the facilities. The critical analysis site is not used enough, and could really help out new poets or someone who is not sure of a poem.
A lot of people write just to clear their head or their heart, and after its written, its nice to have someone reply, but that wasnt' the pupose of the writing. Others are new at poetry and really are not sure of themselves, and are asking with their "please read"....is this ok? So yes, I do try to read the ones who ask, because they need it, but no, can't read them all, there are just too many...

lol how's that for waffling for you....and sigh, speaking of waffling, I sure miss a certain feathered creature, am still trying to get him over here....last conversation peaked his interest, but he has been too busy

oh yeah, and it was the "belly important" that made me read this more than the "please read" ROFG

I agree with lloveit that critical analysis isn't used enough.....and for that reason I don't post there all that often, because in the few times i've posted there, I've gotten only one or 2 replies. Although I will say Brad is a very consientous moderstor as every entry I've read has a reply from him. (thanks Brad)

I also try to read poems by pople who want them read, as too many of my "Please Read" poems are ignored. However just because there aren't many replies doesn't mean it hasn't been read, just that it hasn't been replied to for one reason or another.

JTF: ROFL...are you suggesting that I'm too energetic?....ROFLMAO

HUSG

Iloveit: Bet you thought it was a funny poem didn't you...lol...thanks for the feedback...I do read in the Critical forum but don't know enough about poetry to suggest anything so tend not to comment, roll on Nan's workshop..

HUSG

Systematic Decay: I do try to read most of the poems in here whatever the title but have to admit it is the title that usually draws me in and I try to go back to the start of Open as well to pick up any poems that I missed and I know the Moderators do...

I must admit this is the first time I ever included a 'please read'..so will be interesting to see what anyone else has to say on the subject...

Thanks for looking

Yes, I read ... but only because it was you, and you are not known to post "please reads" unless they need to be read ... had I not recognized the name, I would have kept on scrolling ...

RG,
I always your poetry whether it has a Please Read or not just cuz you are the author. I may not always post a reply but I do read just about everything every day. Just ask my kid.. he's always sniveling cuz I'm on the computer readin' poetry and he doesn't get much time to use it. Oh well he'll get over it eh?

OK, I must admit, your TITLE was the draw! Quite clever. I'm one for good titles. When someone begs one to read, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. However, if they include "critique" or "comment", then chances are, I'll check into it.

However, again, the TITLE was the grabber. I was wondering if this belonged in Announcements where someone was either expecting, or getting permission for insertion of a ring in a belly button...

there y'go!

I don't really know how to answer this one. Sometimes I do read them cause of the please read, and sometimes I don't. Here's a new one, why don't we try reverse psychology and say Please Don't Read This! You know that would be the killer and we would have to look! lol

Rainbow your (belly important) is what got me. I thought at first you mispelled it, but then I knew you couldn't have, it had to be intentional. You got me!

I would only read a "Please Read" if you wrote it..all others are passed by.. I believe if someone has to beg me to read something, they are posting only to be read. Not for the pleasure of writing.

I as well have to admit it was the, "belly important", that caused me to look. I do read the please read ones as well though. I also look for authors names when I read. I have much to learn and their are many great poets here. I like to read the challenges as well....lol. They are so fun.

I also believe that there is a chain reaction ... the more replies you have, the more chances you have to be read by others.

and you've shown something else RG ... that most people read it because it was you ...

and here you go on top again !

Sunshine: I put the 'belly important' in because of my sense of humour and because I was feeling guilty about getting people to read under false pretenses...LOL and ROFL @ insertion of a ring in a belly button...oh my!..*g*

HUGS

WhtDove: I like the idea of "Please Don't Read This"...LOL...but wouldn't we all hate it if we were taken literally...I don't know about others but my heart does a little flip when I get the mail notification and then I kind of peep through my fingers at the comments...and I'm sat here giggling cause I can see me doing it...

HUGS

Kelly: Time is a big factor and that's for sure..

HUGS

Balladeer: ROFL....well now, I could do with a nice warm hand today...*g*

HUSG

PDV: Oh, Bless you!!..I do think like you though that it's a little off putting when you see that 'please read'..I read one by Alice in Wonderland yesterday and it was magic, so why the 'please read'?..I did ask but haven't yet looked to see if there's an answer..

HUSG

Richard: No worries, I thought you were kidding but just in case it was 'tongue in cheek'..*g*

HUGS

Marilyn: Yep, agree with you on the challenges, I've only ever done one, only because I don't understand the rest..LOL...but like you, I'm learning..

HUGS

JTF: I was waiting for someone to say that, I have noticed that people are curious and when they see a post has a few answers, they're drawn to find out why, either that or it's the humour of a post..

HUSG

Justbleu: Shucks!!! You mean it isn't important?...ROFL

HUGS

Dark Angel: So it wasn't the 'please read' but the humour that caught you or perhaps the possible typo...*g*

Hey guys....we forgot to talk about the purpose of this post...so:

1) Do you read posts that state in the title, "please read or comment"

2) Do you read because of the author

3) are you reading and posting so that I can beat Michael's "wanna be on top"..ROFL
