Garden Cycle

Young rabbits at play
stop to nibble my daisies -
my wife laughs out loud.

Garden butterfly
alights on the last poppy -
first breath of autumn.

Harsh serrated wind,
rain slices the icy air -
one white blossom tries.

Two fledgling sparrows
practice baby flight-steps -
the roses smile.
