No piece of you do I possess
no proof for all my trust.
Not even a picture in my mind's eye are you,
the happiness sure to come.
All that is mine is hope
that shines silvery within.

You are a star in my future,
a hope so distant,
a dream resting on a cloud,
a promise yet unfulfilled.

Love the last line...a promise yet unfulfilled! I've had plenty of those!

Wistfully poetic concept-well expressed.

In agreement with Hoot there! This was sweet!
