so i held my head so high
walked down the street to die
could almost make it to the end
so full of dirty sin
put my pride back in its place
i can see the end of this race
shot rings out so very near
inches short i fall there
i try to crawl to the sun
wanting to run
i get to my feet
but its too far
too little time
my little piece of sun
closes on the sinful ones
so close
i almost got away
but almost doesnt count
as the dead sometimes say..
