Find your star

A single star but shines for me
Within the heavens that I see
This voyage started with my birth
And has sailed me around the earth.
It's the brightest star in my night
The only one for me that's right.

Its been there eons and its right
This single star that shines for me
It shines and lights the darkest night
The only one that's right for me.
I followed it around the earth
And have followed it since my birth.

It seems to me most since my birth.
I only know the light is right.
I think there's one each one on earth
I know the one that shines for me.
I'm sure if you look you will see
Your star that's brightest in your night.

You cannot count the stars at night
Even if you started at birth.
You must search, search until you see
And feel the feel that all is right.
You must be dogmatic like me.
And sail your soul around the earth.
.
Follow your star around the earth.
Your star is there shinning at night.
I swear by all that's good in me
That is the reason for your birth.
It is the only path that's right.
Just stick to it and you will see.

Just sail with me and you will see.
There's one for each of us on earth.
The star will guide to what is right
The brightest star you see at night.
This is why you were given birth
For you are no different from me.

So be of heart and watch the night.
Each one born, always birth for birth.
There's one for you as was for me.

This was beautiful Seymour.. I am not sure what the structure is for a sestina. But I thought you did a lovely job on the poem itself.

Seymour, you surprised me with this one and that is a rare thing indeed. Well done.

You do understand that you just raised the standard for your own poetry, yes?

Awesome Sey!
It's hard enough to do a sestina, but you added a beautiful flair about current goings-on that made it strike home!
Bravo!

Seymore....absolutely beautiful. Would you mind e-mailing me the rules for this type of poetry.....I'm illiterate when it comes to this stuff

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same.

Thank you all for leaving footprints!!

Well the responce is overwhelming.
Lucie,
I got the form from analyzing DreamEvils poem
Thank you for the kind words
DreamEvil,
from you this is high praise indeed. thank you so much.
Christopher,
Thank you for recognizing that point.
Hoot,
All you have to do is what I did. I printed DreamEvils sestina and studied what he did
It's the easiest way to do it. if you like you can print mine and follow the endings as I did. Thanks for the kind words and lots of luck.
dsnyder,
thank you you are a doll *L*
Poet deVine,
You are an inspiration to me and your words warm my heart. I forgot what the next challenge was could you remind me.
