Why do men think I’m easy?
They are all out to screw me over,
Take what they can,
Bleed me dry.

Just because they are men,
They think they have that right.
Just because I’m a woman
They think I have to take it.

I refuse to lay down and die,
Take the crap they pile on me.
I am stronger than that.

Hell hath no fury
Like a woman scorned.
And this woman has been seared.

Beware, you cowardly bastards,
You lurk behind the shadows
Messing with my life
As if it were nothing.

But it’s my life
You’re playing with.
And I’m not giving it up that easily.
You think you can take me on?
Let’s go...

Please don't take this as male bashing in general. There are only a few males that I'm upset with at this time. This awful piece of poetry (dare I call it poetry?) is just a way to work through my anger.

Everyone needs to vent once in awhile... at least you do it with words and not violence!

Whew! I've had my moments like this too, I must confess! I left a job recently after almost eight years of putting up with the glass ceiling syndrome. This may not be the same as your situation, but I can relate your piece to my situation very easily. Thank God most men are NOT like that! Very well done, Tara.

Denise, thank you, the glass ceiling, that's pretty much it. but it feels more like a wall I keep banging against.

Ladies, thanks for understanding my frustration.

I LOVED THIS POEM.... more power to ya girlfriend... hehe... sometimes being female isnt all that it is cut out to be.. but its the strength that we get in numbers that makes it worth it

------------------
"If to rectify your demeanor,
You must imitate another,
Your philosiphy on morality
Is a burden on your mentality,
Your actions based on popularity,
Will never fulfill you internally,
Cuz the world was not blessed with equality,
But rather with fake geniality.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same.

Thank you all for leaving footprints!!
