Just a short and sweet one for you tonight, Ruth. More like thoughts in my mind than actual poetry. Talk to you soon.

As my night shift winds down to its end,
And the ships day has just begun,
People filing in,
Reading your words over my shoulder,
I sign off so soon after you sign on.

I looked out over the endless sea today,
And thought deeply of you,
Your love of the sea,
The sea a necessity for me.

The waves rise slowly today,
Ship's at quarter steam,
Gently pulling me to sleep,
Thinking of you and your love.

Gulls are no where in sight,
If only your shore were next,
A friendly port visit,
I appear at your door,
Hoping only to stand there,
Talking long into morning,
Before setting off for home.

John - I know how you feel. This is really beautiful and I'm sure Ruth will love it.

Tyson...
Again I am left moved by your words. This is so true to life concerning us. Oh, to have you sail to my port...but remember Tyson, Pennsylvania is a wee bit inland
All I can say is thank you, I loved it and I love you too.
Always
Ruth

And I am melting right along with Pepper. The longing in this piece is so real. My best wishes go out that you make that trip soon, and come inland for a while I think someone is waiting for you!

caroline and pepper....if you two are melting, think of how it makes me feel
I can second the longing in this piece and am so looking forward to that visit
