Another of my Nana's works - I have no idea when she wrote it, however...

TAKE TIME
by Velma M. Carlson (1903-1996)

Just to say, "Good Morning,"
Or, "How are you today?"
Just to greet an old friend
In a sort of cheerful way.

Just to let them know you like them
Just to add a knowing smile -
Then you've really made a friend
And one that's sure worthwhile.

Just a little friendly handshake
Will help to make your day start right
Just a smile when meeting someone
May help to make their day real bright.

It takes so little to be friendly,
A little less to smile -
So, when you meet a friend, just take the time
To sit and chat awhile.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same.

Thank you all for leaving footprints!!

Nan,
The simplicity of the poem is as strong today as yesterday. I has a timeless quality.

It takes nothing and gives so much pleasure
for none of us walk the path of another..

Once again, well written by Nan's nan..
