I Spy

Tomorrow is a new day
As I do the things I wish to do
Thinking only passing of hopes and dreams
Laid aside because of you
But those dreams and hopes once tossed away
Are now within my hungry grasp
So I'll reach over, pick them up once more
And fasten together my safety clasp
As my dreams include furious speed
Danger, excitement, bullets past my ear
Cloak and dagger so very real
Silent and deadly, a perilous fear
Spy versus spy
In a world gone mad
A no holds bared contest
Destined to be bad
Freelance, old-guard, elite, recruits
All dancing the dance of murder and deceit
Lurking in shadows to dark to delve
All a dance just waiting to repeat
Is it glamorized?
Yes for sure it has to be
Is it dangerous?
Like nothing you’ve thought to see
Danger and mystique
Is that not what we desire?
To be raised before all in a pleasing way
To be the spark that lights the fire
For from the spark the fire burns
From the spark the world can see
And I want to start the flame
I want to be what none can see

and gosh, i feel bad 'cause i REALLY WANTED TO READ THIS!!!! and i'm still waiting on an e-mail with a bunch of poems from a friend like you......

Fast and furious! Really liked the way this one reads. I recommend RPG… a little less hazardous to the health.

ok, whew! finally got a chance to read this and i'm soooo glad i did.

to spy or not to spy? that's not a question anymore, is it? your future is so exciting i can't wait to read the whole book!

excellent perception pictured here... i especially like the lines: "Silent and deadly, a perilous fear/Spy versus spy/ In a world gone mad". You have quite the responsibility ahead of you. Mad Magazine, this is not.

nice job, des!

Peek a boo - I see you!
Oh, I wasn't supposed to know you were there, huh? O.K. just go on spying, just more beer and pizza for me.

thanks guys. hehe I just felt like it. as some may or may not know, I'm enlisting in the military, going for the intelligence side of it all, but I can settle for a desk job or a cozzy grunt job as well. just as long as I get to go out and do something. prefer the intel side though. I'm going nuts right now. damn procedures. take too damn long. if I had it my way I'd be out in the field yesterday. hehe oh well. guess I'll just have to relearn patience. either that or write some more. which would you prefer?
