So be it

She saddles me like a willing horse
And digs her spurs into my sides
She screams commands till she is hoarse
I groan each time she mounts and rides.

There was a time when love was new
I felt we were the same, of course.
But as time passed, I finally knew
That she was rider- I the horse.

Today we go along our way
Until death or at least divorce
The Grande Dame proudly on display
Aboard her tired beaten horse.

Feeling unappreciated, are we..?

My horse used to bite me when I pissed her off ... have you tried that? If nothing else it should make things interesting ...

Seriously, though, good verse as usual, Seymour.

"Nunc lento sonitu dicunt, morierus"
(Now as I hear this bell tolling softly for another, it says to me, "Thou must die.")

Ouch...I hope she at least cools you down and brushes you after the ride
Seriously, this was well written, I like the symbolism in it

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same.

Thank you all for leaving footprints!!

LOL
Well you still have some kick to ya, Sy -
She hasn't rode you into the ground yet.
Thanks for the laugh.

Oh you make my laugh - now where is that tribute to this horse rider anyway?  I will find it.
