It's easy making laughter,
I do it all day long,
To me it is, so worthwhile,
To make somebody smile.

Sadly life won't always flow,
Like the melody of song,
Admire the ones that can still smile,
When everything goes wrong.

Trouble tests your heart,
And it comes more through-out the years,
The smiles that are worth,
More than anything on earth,
Are the smiles that shine through tears.

Toerag: Beautiful poem, dear friend... I would appreciate laughter to brighten my day from any source... but I think that last verse describes well why your smiles are so treasured.

As the laughter makes you shake
and the tears just up and go
look around and you will find
That lovely man called TOE..

As I read through so many of the poems this morning, I was overwhelmed by sadness... so many hearts breaking, so many souls aching... some griefs that seem unbearable... and my sympathy and compassion go to all.

I was reminded of this poem... in the deepest darkness, a smile often brings a tiny bit of healing... even if that healing isn't immediately apparent. And I, for one, am grateful for the smile-givers.

Thanks, Toe... for a wonderful poem. We each have the ability to make life a little less grim for someone... I needed that reminder.
