A Star I've Yet To Hold

Can you fathom how one misses,
-a star they've yet to hold?
Feel their touch, but not their kisses,
-speak of dreams you've yet to mold?

A thousand million miles away,
-yet they're right before your eyes?
Your tomorrow is their today,
-yet your hearts still synchronize?

Feel the aching beat of your heart,
-contradict the peaceful calm?
Dreaded silence, where you impart,
-a joke to soothe and balm?

In a world so cruel and careless,
-when you find your soul of gold:
You'll understand just how I miss,
-my star that I've yet to hold.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry or run around and scream my head off! Thankyou, Chris - I think I'll do all three. Hey, at least you're not alone. Beautiful, beautiful and on..and on.

Christopher, Which poem (or woman) might you be reffering to? It seems I've missed it.

Thank you all, words of praise from such fine poets as you really leaves me with a big head! (don't listen to severn, I don't have an ego problem... I swear!)

Tara... read on, and you shall see!

Dark Angel- I post my feelings here to share them, I am honored that you wish to share them with others!

Ruth- I already hold her in my heart!

K- I'm not the only one with multiple personalities I see!

I see much in this, Christopher.
'Tis beautifully written. I hope you truly have found your star...your inspiration.

Christopher,
Nice poem. I can relate, too. Still working on that depressing one that you challenged to us all. Where's yours?

This is lovely, Christopher...*sigh*

I wish I could get all of you "Romancers" together at some huge, beautiful bed & breakfast, so all of you could meet your dreams come true! (I'll keep buying lottery tickets! ~*LOL*~)
