A yearling fawn its thirst does slake,
At water's edge of ox-bow lake,
Tranquil pool of burnished glass,
Rimmed by sea of blue-stem grass,
As Helios sets in cloudless sky,
The Wakarusa flows nearby,
Chinook's warm winds have brought spring's thaw,
In cottonwood, black crow does caw,
Whispers of a pulsing breeze,
Singing nature's harmonies,
A great blue heron stands sentinel,
In silent guard of hidden dell.

A young boy tops a nearby crest,
And finds a rock on which to rest,
Then for an instant, time stands still,
As boy sits on, God's windowsill.

This is absolutely beautiful, Mike! With your permission, I would like to print this for my grandchildren to hang on their walls! Let me know! (p.s. my e-mail still doesn't work, so you'll have to let me know here! sorry.)
