Kiss me goodbye, my darling,
Tell me you love me and smile.
I'll close my eyes so you won't see me cry...
Walk away.
I'll forget the lies you told me,
Ignore the times you left.
Just hold me in your arms,
Whisper your tender words.
I'll close my eyes so you won't see me cry...
I love you, my sweet.
Walk away.
Kiss me goodbye, my darling.
Walk away.

Oft have I but felt as this;
and whence forth my pain came springing,
I wept in sorrow's faithless bliss
and lived on to continue singing.

Keep writing, Skysight. Life is painful but filled with much joy. 'Tis only a matter of allowing it to find you.

Thank you all - all, what, five of you? - thanks for the comments...most of the stuff I've ever posted is ignored, as I'm sure many others have noticed about their own work. So I appreciate what I get, no matter how trivial or insightful it may be.
