The first tears fell like a torrential rain.
The first to notice my tears was my wife.
It tore at her heart to see me in pain.
My tears hit her with the hurt in my life.

She asked, "For her?", so I nodded my head.
She held me tight and gave me sympathy.
I will always carry the words she said.
"I know that you love her much more than me."

Those ringing words I just couldn't deny.
Nothing I could say would be sufficient.
We held each other close as we did cry.
I knew once she was so beneficient.

She told me something I already knew.
She told me that she had found another.
The times true love comes along are too few.
She promised I would be with my other.

For the pain she caused she would step aside.
So much was she moved by my face of grief.
Such things are not mine alone to decide.
Knowing she understands is a relief.

With a caring smile she took my hand.
Once again tears were spilling from my eyes.
I thank God for helping her understand.
The heart always knows what the mind denies.

I was moved by the sadness of this poem. I hope that all in your life works out the way that you want it to. I pray that you will be reunited with your love.

This is a powerful piece DreamEvil. Been in a similiar situation although no understanding ever came. I love the final stanza i.e. the last line. That is soooo true. Wonderful words, my friend.

Sounds like you will soon have your freedom. Then you and one voice can be together. Congratulations.
