FALLEN STAR

If I were to fall from the sky
Would you notice me gone?
If I held your wish would still I
Be worth wishing upon?

If I fell to you, in whole, in part,
Would I land in your pocket?
Or would you place me over your heart,
Still, hidden in a locket?

Would you then gaze upon the night,
Finding it darker still,
Or would you find in me the light -
To finally make your dreams real?

When you think you're not sure how far -
The road is to tomorrow.
When you're not sure just who you are,
Cause all you feel is sorrow.

When you begin to wonder why -
Wishes never really come true.
Just remember I fell from the sky,
Because I believed in you.

The night WOULD be darker as indeed would 'Passions in Poetry' be without you and your beautiful work..

Ok Michael and Femme...I want to see a book of these poems you write each other...one answering the other's poem with their own. It would be a great book! Get to work! *LOL*
Seriously...this is soooo good. The two of you write well together

Excellently crafted and elegant verse. Your sliver of light shines brightly I think.

Michael, I've left this one till last, because I just don't know what to say....I'm not sure how this makes me feel? Some of what it says makes me feel wonderful, and then a couple of the stanzas seem to bring me sadness...??? I've read it over at least 3 times, and am still lost.....Please help me! It's beautifully written, I must say - of course...and I love that you wrote it in response to mine......missing you tonight. *** blowing kisses as usual !!

Femme,
This is just saying don't let why's and what if's remove the luster of a star within your reach. If you are one of the lucky persons who catch their falling star - don't hide it in your pocket and wonder why your world is still dark. Let it shine as bright as it can in your life, into your tomorrows.
Too many people never realize their own dreams & wishes for their own fears. I've realized mine in you, I hold you up to the world as the shining star of my life. Not meant to bring you sadness, love, but to erase any doubt. The last line simply means I'd give all up for you if that was your wish, a star never to shine again without you.

Michael

Oh Michael....come here and let me hold you. (arms open) I just want to hold you forever....thank you for saying what you just said, it makes things quite a bit clearer now. I know I tend to be a bit timid at times with this thing they call love and all.....I think alot of us here can relate. Too afraid to believe my dreams could come true with you. Please hold me ......& thank you.

I'm bringing this one back, because it makes me feel the closest to you...since you've explained to me what it all means. You are certainly my star - I hold you out as a light to guide me through the night, like a lantern. Thank you for believing in me, and understanding my love for you...I nearly lost the brightest thing in my life, but you still shine bright in my lift today ! With all my love....Gennifer
I'll be near you again soon, my love. *** kisses ***

Beautiful as usual. I am so happy for you both!

Femme: I do know what you mean about being afraid to believe that all your dreams lie in one person...it is very scary indeed. But love over comes!

Hugs for you both.
