Note: Before you read this, read "Rock me to Sleep" by Hoot_owl_rn, it will make more sense after! And hoot Thanks for the inspiration!
.......................................

So close to you no matter how far apart
Three thousand miles is just another number
If not hand in hand, then heart to heart
The ocean calmly rocks us into slumber

You go to work while I am still in bed
I dream of love so pure, untouched and true
And writing poems down in my head
I wish that I was there, somewhere with you

The eastern sun wakes up my only love
While somewhere west I’m still disheartened
And ocean’s gentle rocking's not enough
I need my love, where waters are uncharted

And half asleep I lay upon the deck
I stare into the sea disguised with haze
I long for you beside me on this trek
As morning mist leans gently on my face

I can’t express how much I envy mother earth
Which wears your footprints night and day
I would be honored to become a slave and serve...
And serve my love and never be away

I long to have you locked inside my arms
And grow together like two branches of one tree
I promise to protect you from all harms
Just promise me that you’ll be here with me

And closer still, no matter how far apart
Three thousand miles is just another number
If not hand in hand, then heart to heart
The ocean calmly rocks us into slumber

Master, this is absolutely lovely! The tenderness, the longing...what a perfect compliment to hoot's poem!

Yes...this is the important thing to remember,

For two such spirits, bound heart to heart,
there is no distance can keep them apart.

Good response, my friend..again, delighted to see you here :-)
