in case you ever wear a dress
keep in mind, it's so much stress
sit up straight it's so pertinent
it can't be shallow we swim in it
pearls just like an umbilical cord
glassy-eyed and oh so bored
wave your hands born on a cusp
of death and life and love and lust
if i fall before i wake
i pray my soul to be so fake
i crash my bones upon the ground
i scream it doesn't make a sound
through my pretty eyes i see a face
i can't find its reason or its place
lipstick burns and cracks a smile
makeup it wears for quite a while
skinny arms they splinter when broken
a girl's good looks a good luck token
a bruise becomes an eye so blue
i put myself together with waterproof glue
now i can cry my whole life long
i can fall apart and still look strong
but next time you put on my dress
remember boy, it's all distressed
you don't want to be a girl just dress like 1
well my love it's funny, but it's not any fun
there's nothing good in our world
baby don't ever dress like a girl
