Wondering
my wonder
about the tilt
of your head
as you pour
your cup of coffee

And
do you like
toast with jam?

Do pictures
on walls
form haphazard
mazes of places you're
craving to see?
Or are those
walls bare and
covered with paper
coated with memories
the air only
frames?

Do your legs
stretch out
or do they lie
limp
forgotten
as you rest
in a chair
on a couch
on the floor
patterns of which
I
imagine?

What dreams
do you send
searching into
the night,
my wonder
I wonder
does your forehead
wrinkle as you sleep?

And
do little tears
form in the corners
of your eyes
when you yawn
your dreams away?

Wondering
my wonder
what colours
the sun catches
in your curtains?
What shrill cry
from your telephone
comes?
And
how do you hold
the receiver?
Do you scratch
your head and squint
in thought
or do you pace
and frown
or maybe even
just sit?

These simple mysteries
my mystery
turn my head
with the wondering
I have of you

The face I've never seen
that voice I haven't heard
the heart
in you
beating without a sound
I'm deaf to you
and your living
and blind
but I know
that somewhere your routines
go on and I
must only picture them
making an inner map
of a place
I want to go
to remove
the mystery
of you

my mystery

Thanks! It's for a very 'enigmatic' person.

In the wonder of discovering someone's soul, we sometimes miss the 'little things'..this is amazing. I like it a lot!

Don't remove ALL the mystery Severn ... things could get boring ...

I like this ... it speaks to me. (Voices! Don't you hear them?!?) tee-hee.

Keep them coming, Severn!

Your mystery is well known to me at least, dear Severn. Excellent tribute.

Severn,
you have painted an impression in words instead of paint and did a wonderful job.

And the mystery deepens as the pangs of desire go on. Don't worry about solving the mystery severn, because if I know the man who is your mystery, there is slim chance that you will ever find the depths of his mind boring. And how can he fail to be anything less, than what he is?
A magnificent poem, that truly touched me more than you might know.
