Have you ever sat outside
in the quiet of Life's night -
Looked up to gaze the stars
to see one shining very bright ?

It seems to lure you in
to mezmerize your stare -
If you could pluck it from the sky...
Would you grab it? Do you dare?

Would you put it in your pocket -
and hide it like a treasure ?
Does this shining star take o'er
your life, your soul, with pleasure?

Does it blind you from tomorrow
Just because it is a star -
Wish you may & wish you might
Do you wonder where you are?

Does your mind begin to swim -
In the galaxy of "whys" ?
If you're feeling lost & empty,
Throw that star back to the skies........

Femme,
I hope that star hasn't lost it's luster already. There's certainly one very bright star in my heavens.

Oh Michael, how could you possibly think I wrote this depressing piece about you...?? I wrote this sometime back...not to worry, sir....

You still shine with a brightness that causes me to wear my sunglasses at night.....

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket never let it fade away,
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket your's to hold forever and a day.
Are the stars just pinholes in the curtain of night?
I love the starry nights and love your poem too! Thanks for sharing it..:

Nice one poet...nothing like a single star to brighten a night......I hope we all have the opportunity to find our shinning star or to be someone elses

Poet--
Just browsing through, and as always another piece well done. Is there a subject you can't write about?

pFF,
Star light star bright
Some one stole you in the night.
Now there is a missing star.
And I wonder where you are?

Once again I sit here after reading your poems and just sit peacefully, waxing philosophical. One thing that gets me home after school is this board, specifically looking for YOUR work.

Beautiful and thought provoking.
