While I'm in my family posting mode - I have one very special treat - This one is written by my late great-grandmother, for her daughter, my Nana..... It's the only one of her works I can find - But I'm looking real hard for some more....

MAMA'S POEM
by Alice K. Martin (1878-1967)

When I have left this mortal shore
And mosey 'round the earth no more,
Don't cry, don't weep, don't sob ~
I may have struck a better job.

Don't go and buy a large bouquet
For which you find it hard to pay.

If you have roses, well, bless your soul
Just pin one in my button-hole
While I am here and well today.
Don't wait until I've gone away.

Nan,
This was a precious piece. How lucky you
are to have members in your family that
write. No one in my family writes except
me.

Words so true. I really enjoy those last two lines of the first stanza. If anybody has ever taken time to write in my family, it is unknown to me. Oh well, nothing like being a trend setter. Thanks for sharing.
