Laying with you in fields of sweet clover
living our summertime dreams
I wonder if you still remember
such a long time ago it seems

I told you tales of knights of old
and dragons slain in defeat
told of soldiers marching in unison
crushing the dead under their feet

But the girl that wove such fantasies
grew up and moved away
but I still remember the stories I told
and the boy as he listened each day

Now I tell tales in verse and prose
to forum friends I’ve come to know
wondering, ever wondering
where did my summer friend go?

Perhaps someday you’ll stumble
across a poem of mine
and wonder: who is this person
by the name of Poet deVine.

Sweet memories deVine. Are you sure you didn't eat any of that candy?

I’ll remember you
O’ clever poet
De vine you are to me,
So gifted are you in rhyme
Of wit, you neatly pen it...

Beautifully said, this Summertime dream.
Look back on them fondly for they never really die..

Where to, Lady deVine, the winter of your discontent? Not!

Excellent verse.

I often wonder similiar thoughts of people who've crossed my life.
I hope this one finds his way to you, Devine One.

Very nice PdV! But do we have to move on? We can't we keep summer around a bit longer? Ah, yes in our poetry! Thanks!
