Not often do I pray to God
for this I am ashamed.
It seems when things aren’t going well
it’s then I call his name.

I wasn’t raised religiously,
never went to any church.
But I was taught to turn to God
when I was feeling hurt.

Sometimes I feel the strength of God
surrounding me at night.
When without my husband next to me
I’m alone and feeling fright.

When the light of day returns again
and the world around me wakes.
I get myself up out of bed
with all the strength it takes.

To face another day alone
with no one to hold my hand.
To help me face the world around,
to help me take a stand.

Then suddenly I feel his strength
in every thing I do.
I realize I’m not alone in this
cause God is right there too.

This is good, Lucie! I think we all do this, when we need Him, we have more faith. I don't think He minds....especially with you - you're a good, sweet person...and remember all poets go to Heaven!

Your poem reminds me of another..."Footprints in the Sand."
When we need Him most he will carry us,
other times He quietly walks beside us.

A big HuG...this poem made me smile
and feel all warm inside....

And HE is Lucy! He is always there! That is funny how we are isn't it. When things go right we forget all about God, until something goes wrong. We should really be thankful HE don't do the same to us shouldn't we?

Great poem Lucie!God's presence is always with us,although we often don't realize it until we're in trouble. The difficult thing is to remember God's always there-we shouldn't forget him during the good times he's given us!
