Never was such sweet command
as six years young, with treat in hand,
un-shod feet on grassy land,
go running fast,then quick-still stand,
to speed again for no clear cause,
as youthful season claps applause
and marks it well for future thought,
to be caressed and not forgot-
a long ago soft summers' haze,
a so missed one of once were days.

Paul

I really like this one for the melancholy it evokes.

Good poem Paul, made me remember when I was
young. Made me feel good. Thanks!
I also wanted to let you know, that I told
Lady X how I felt about her, it didn't quite work out the way I wanted it to.
