Finding You Gone

I came home tonight
to find you had gone;
vanished like rain in a stream.

Your note was as brief
as autumn on the west coast -
I took my grief to the lake.

The bone white moon
was hanging full in the sky
like the last china plate of a set.

Under the moon
the still silent lake
gleamed as smooth as polished glass.

The murmuring wind
sent a hush through the pines
like the sound of the sea in the dark.

An owl called your name
as he rose up from the dark
and carried my pain to the moon.

The imagery is wonderful, you've done a beautiful job of painting pain as "beautiful".

Well done, Lady.

I truly love this one Beki.
I still feel just like this most of the time.
But especially when I look out onto the lake
that I dwell by!!
