Even the chilled rain
Is migrating southward in
Perpetual drops.

The five pm dark
Is beginning to beat the
Rush hour traffic home.

Fire in the mums
Fuel satiating the furnace
Hunger in the wood.

Pumpkins poised with fat
Paunches on windswept porches,
Bragging wilting rights.

Sunkissed schoolboy knees
Surrender to long pants and
Breeze crisp as apples.

These are beautiful, Wendy. You have mastered the haiku technique quite well. I especially enjoyed the ones about the chrysanthemums and pumpkins.

Haiku is my special gift so I really enjoyed yours..especially the middle three. Might I offer a fall haiku of my own?

The shadows lengthen;
morning leaves a fringe of frost
on front porch pumpkins.
