A few here already know about me...Rainbow and Suthern etc.,...now ya all will know Toe.

Some know me as Buzz, you know me as Toe,
The following's my life story, which a few already know,
I was born on a mountain top in Tennessee,
"Oooops! That was Davey Crockett...not me!

I'm a mild mannered guy now,
But haven't always been,
Wish I could live my life over,
I'd do things differently then.

I've sung with Paul McCartney,
Been drunk with Sam the Sham,
Traveled this country over,
With the Allman Brother's Band.

I've brought life into this world, and I've seen life leave,
Word's can't express what that's done to me.
I took a man's life, in Georgia state,
It broke my heart, but prevented a rape.

I've had a dozen surgeries,
Been cut-probed and sliced,
A few were from doctors,
The others weren't so nice.

My best friend's my son,
He's twenty years old,
I can see myself in him,
He's the second "Toe."

My daughter is gorgeous,
She's a bundle of fun,
I wish I could see her more often,
(I hope she becomes a nun.)LOL

She's eleven years old,
She's twenty years wise,
I could spoil her with riches,
But that wouldn't be right.

I believe in God, and believe it or not,
You wouldn't believe the morals I've got.
I had parents that loved me,
Now they're both gone,
I've had some prayers answered,
So my faith remains strong.

I've made friends here and there,
And some enemies too,
I believe in doing unto others,
As they do to you.

I wear a clown's face,
I play the part well,
But deep in my heart,
I'm miserable as hell.

To quote an old folk singer I know;

I'm just a name that's all...scratched upon a wall....I've used it well but what the hell...that's what walls are for.

Toerag: Wonderful poem, sweetie... but then, I expected no less from the finest man I've ever known...

How honored I am to call you my friend!
I treasure you so and won't even pretend
I've ever known a man such as you -
Kind-hearted, loyal, generous and true.
If one wish could be granted, my wish would be this
Your misery be replaced with complete happiness.
My admiration is endless; you have my respect.
I think that sweet Toe is darn near perfect!

Words escape me at the moment! I hope you also find peace and that misery will go.
You are one person I'm glad to get to know!!
Your best friend is your son? That is really great! That is a special thing most son/father's don't have. Thanks for sharing Toe!!!

thanx ladies....I don't think I'm gonna leave this up here however...it kinda makes my skin crawl.....and by the large influx of responses, it may be doing this to others too? LOL...I need to just stick with my regular BS...I know my poetry composition really sux...and I would never claim to be a poet....but reading what most of the others do with words and rhythm etc., is quite a learning experience.....isn't it?

hah! copied and saved it before you take it down.....and you shouldn't, it is a wonderful poem and a wonderful description of the "toe" that we know and care for and
as you can tell from my poems lol

poetry doesn't have to have meter
it doesn't have to have rhyme,
it just has to have a piece of the poets heart
yours qualifies my friend
and you heart is one of the best!

Toerag: Reading what others write may be a learning experience... but your poems teach of life and of laughter... of your love for the first and the need for the second... and that's a lesson every heart responds to.

You don't often take off that mask in public... but the man behind the Toerag is one well worth knowing... I can't imagine appreciating anyone more.

The hells you've lived through sometimes do make my skin crawl... but they forged a man without equal. I will always regret every sorrow you've experienced and every heartbreak you've known... and I'll cherish the man you are even more because you've become stronger and kinder on paths that would have made so many bitter and broken.

Right on Suthern, you tell him!!! Toe, this poem was very well put together. It seems you don't appreciate your talent as well as we do!!!!! Don't take it down, it is another part of you, that we have all grown to love and admire...I mean that Toe!!!

Now, Toe, what a dilemna ! ... If I tell you what I really think about you, your head will get bigger ... I'm talking about the one that is on your shoulder, not the teeny weeny one ... but ... the world would be a better place with more people like you ... :-)

Wow!! Old Toe - you are nearly as perfect as me! That makes two saints in this world.

Incidently, ya scalawag - you didn't need a poem to remind me what a first class guy you are.

Now what was that about Hooters? and LJA? I'm there - I've got some...... um... money..

Hey, toe! I take back all, uh,half, uh,some, uh,atleast 1 or 2 of things I said about you. It's not easy to bear your soul to strangers and you did one hell of a job. Besides, anybody who traveled with Sam the Sham is aces in my book. Hey, there, little red ridin' hood.....It's good knowing you're a decent toe...instead of just being a little callous. And don't you worry about the quality of your work. You've got talent to spare, my man......
