We were together yesterday,
We shared our dreams, our soul,
But today I'm oh so alone,
Feeling a stagnant life take it's toll.

Nothing really dies,
This is something we both know,
We mightn't speak for months on end,
Yet still we can't let go.

You're the one for me,
Can you hear my calling?
When I close my eyes I feel you,
When I open them my life it is appalling.

Why did it have to be this way,
Why do we have to pretend?
That there is nothing now between us,
That our love is at an end?

If there was hatred or hurt between us,
We couldn't stand each other,
That would make it easier,
Instead of pretending to feel nothing for the other.

So we'll play the game and love the one we're with,
Lash love and attention on our children too,
We'll get on with our life's this is true,
But we'll never again have that love, the magic between us two.
