I am tired, been up so late
because I don't want to leave you
we say goodbye, never in haste,
it's what we always do

I think my body's a bit confused
at the pace that I've been keeping
it's used to bed at half past ten
but now I'm barely sleeping

But it's okay: I'll have it this way
and if I can't sleep at your side
I'll add to night what I borrow from day
and take the fatigue in stride

People say I'm fairly glowing
I'm smiling way too much
I smile because of what I'm knowing:
your look, your kiss, your touch

Sleep is overrated anyway
how much pleasure it causes me to miss
I prefer the night to the day
for no slumber's sweeter than your kiss.

Nice poem, Buzzygirl, and I echo the sentiments (well, sometimes).

Nice poem and the title works well

A very pleasant suprise. I expected the topic to be about writing poetry. As I said, it was quite refreshing to hear about love in such a different manner. Good job.

Well, I have to admit- I'm a bit surprised that something that I wrote at 3:00 this afternoon, with about 10 minutes to spare, is getting such positive input.

Maybe it's a good thing I didn't have that extra cup of coffee at 2:00 this afternoon.

Thanks guys! -- Buzzygirl (Jackie)
