A snap
I swear I heard a snap
Staring up and away
At the mirror slowly clouding over
I heard the snap
That sounded like a drowned Cherrio's last scream
I felt it
Echoing in my ears
The world paused and took a breath
I couldn't breathe
Staring at the shifting landscape
The snap
So thirsty
My eyes are dry
But I can't remember how to close them
I heard a snap
And felt the whispers
I swear I heard it
I swear I did
So thirsty
I swear

not sure I understand the meaning of the "snap" but the poem is well done, it leaves the reader thirsting along with you...made me smile as well, last night my barrette came unfastedned all by itself with a snap and a thump to the back of my head, and so sudden it was that I actually turned to see who was behind me, thumping me in the head lol...

Love the cheerio image! This is interesting, I'll admit but please explain the snap!

Well, ok, guys...here it goes. As some know, I have a very active and vivid imagination. Snap was written after the vision of experiencing a stroke. I hope noone feels like crap for gaining amusement about this before realizing the original motiviation. If any does arise, please accept my apologies for not stating such earlier.
