Your teeth, oh so like the stars
the way they come out at night
Your skin, rippled like cordouroy
Oh, Honey, it feels so right!

Your hair of silvery-blue
spun like spidery-silk webs
The delicate strips combed over
the top of your shiny head!

You're just so fun to have around
with all your liver spots
Why, I could spend the hours
playing connect the dots!

You've got such a sweet aroma
A truly heavenly scent
Who needs expensive cologne
When you've got Polident?

I love your little shuffle
as on your way you wend
But will you get to "there" in time?
I guess it all Depends!

As I sit here next to you
In matching rocking chairs
I see you looking back at me
with that loving, vacant stare...

Yes, I know that you love me, Dear
Our life has not been futile
For every day into your juice
I slipped some Metamucil!

You smile at me crookedly
and I see your dentures slide
So lean on over and give me a kiss
But keep those teeth inside!

Beautifully done, I hope I feel that way about my husband when we are old and grey!!!::

I don't think I've laughed that hard all day. Hell, all month! Such imagery! I can only hope that my wife looks upon me so fondly. Truly funny stuff. Thanks for sharing.

PS. Thanks for the comment on my fast food piece. Much appreciated.

Toerag?? Why, my Deer Balla-doll, a lady would never kiss and tell! (Besides, I think one Suthern Belle is all he can handle!)

Well done again! I love your images - very original. Poor Toerag, why is he so hassled?!

What a great poem! Reall fantastic. Brought a smile to my face, and I can't ask for any more than that tonight. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. The credit really goes to a guy I work with who is always making me laugh. He came out with that first line and I just couldn't stop!

*LOL* Look again, Toe! I called him my Deer Balla-doll!

He came gallantly to my rescue in Community Poetry...he's a sweetie! But so are you
(I am NOT throwin' my hat or anything else into this ring of fire you all have going! heheheh) I am the perfect diplomat, it saves me TONS of trouble, I'm sure!
