There once was a rag named Toe
who had no place to go
til he found us at Passion
and we brought to fashion
now we can’t get the darn Toe to go!

There once was a ballad named ‘Deer
whose writing was usually clear
til he ventured one day
into the Toerag fray
now over his shoulder he must constantly peer

There once was a passionate jewel
who’s poets were writing fuel
the facets were clear
Toerag and Balladeer
but it’s not clear which one is the fool

These limericks are really lame
and you have played a good game
to read and write more
in a poetic war
may you both have fortune and fame.

LOL

I've just begun to follow this feud with interest. Hilarious it is.

Yes, there is a fool. That is clear
And it's not our sweet, kind Balladeer
It must be that Toerag
Who dresses in drag
And hums "Save the Queen" through his rear.

Be careful 'deer! There are several here who would take offense at the God Save the Queen remark...they may bring ammunition to the War of the Words!

I think neither one is the fool
They both use the pen as a tool
To give us their smiles
Though I fear all the while
'Deer's attention is captured by wool!!

Great job, PDV!!!
