It was mid July when the fair had came to town.
Everyone had came from miles and miles around.
Games and rides and food to eat, everything was fun.

Children running, playing with friends, happy as could be.
Not knowing what that night would bring to a certain family.

A call comes across the noisy chatter.
Someone asks "What's the matter.
"A child is missing,"someone shouted.
Looking about,still others doubted.

The mother is screaming out her name.
Some thought she was playing a game.
The police, and searchers looked around.
The little girl was still not found.

Darkness came and sent them home.
The mother went to wait by the phone.
On her way she seen her sister.
She soon found out her daughter was with her.

Cries rang out into the night.
She was glad to see that she was alright.
When they got home, she tucked her in bed.
Gave her a kiss on top of her head.

Then she knelt down and quietly said,
"I would have given my life for you.
When you have children you'll feel that way too.
I was so scared for you my baby girl.
I would have searched all over the world.
But now you're safe within my arms.
I will protect you from all harm.
So go to sleep and dream sweet dreams.
We'll dance together on those golden moonbeams."
