I yearn to be with you,
do you even know?
How much I love you,
I can't let you go.

I follow you everywhere,
you go along without a care,
but you don't know I love you,
It is so not fair!

I continue to love you,
but you break the yearn,
I wish you wouldn't,
when will you learn?

I know just how this feels, Sundance. Sometimes people just cannot take a hint. If this is about your life, then good luck.

I remember those days and I'm glad they're just a memory! Nice poem!

I can't help but wonder if this was written about anyone in particular... Was it? Whatever your answer... this was good. I liked the title too. Alas for all of us who feel the feelings expressed in this poem...

Alas, the pain when they are too blind or too dumb to see.
Well done..
