Doth heartache ever reach its end
And sorrow's teardrops ever cease;
Doth broken heart resist the mend...

And cast aside sure sweet release
Not caring what the cost might be
Demanding only yesterday?

My soul cries out its agony
Oh, such is sorrow's bitter way;
My grief won't end, so heart - pretend.

(For Mom and Dad ...you were too soon gone.)

Aww Denise!
So sad and beautiful and so to the point! Maybe memories are not what keeps us in pain but what keeps the beloved person close to us and in a way alive. To forget would be like they never lived at all.
Hugs from Angel

Acrostic perfection, this should have a good poetry warning on the front.

Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.

Beautiful!! I don't think the grief ever really ends... just becomes bearable.

Memories stop hurting after a while - or at least, they stop hurting so much, and we can enjoy them again. This is a lovely poem.

Thank you Tyson and Hoot for reading and commenting. I was thinking about Mom and Dad today, as I sit here patiently awaiting the birth of my grandson! He seems to tarry a bit! It's moments such as these that I wish I could share with them! Thanks again for your kind comments!

You're going to have a grandson soon? Congratulations! E-mail a picture to me and I'll try to get it sized down to put on a post in the announcement forum!

I loved your poem. It's very beautiful and sad (cleverly written - I've begun to always read down the left side on every poem now).

Please let us know when the baby is born!

Wonderful D! And an acroctic too boot. I am ashamed I didn't see that, I said I wasn't going to get caught again, but I did! PdV pointed that out! Congrats! You're gonna be a grandma soon!!!

Thanks WhtDove, I'm glad you liked it. I must say I am enjoying the challenge of the acrostic. The first one I ever read (believe it or not) was Craig's 'Do Unto Others'. So to ME......CRAIG STARTED IT!!!!!

And, yes, Craig, I know you're not like over a thousand years old or more! You just have that much talent crammed into your thirty something years!

Thanks again WhtDove for the kind comments.

(I'm still waiting for the phone to ring to tell me I'm a 'Mom Mom' again! I'll let you all know when it happens!)
