The sign said stop as you kept going
Through a flashing red hand
And unwavering traffic
Scare yourself at least once a day
As life goes by unflinching
Paste your memories one by one
On a seventeen-inch screen
For all to see
Threaten an executive's safety
'Cause who cares about one big man
In a world of little people
Know that you deserve more
Than once-told feelings and short-lived adrenaline
And buy yourself some more time
As the day gets shorter and shorter
Listen to the rush of cool water
Playing melodically on night's black drum
As a mechanical pulse keeps beat with your heart
Watch the ink set dry on a white-lined page
While your friends joke around in the fore-ground
Look over your large rimmed bifocals
Notice just once what you've already missed
Wrap it up in another thumbnail view
And catalog it in your archive for future reference
Everyone can scare another
But when you scare yourself
You'll know that you've done something right
You may feel that slight rush of adrenaline
As it meanders throughout your veins
And takes a crash course with your nerves
Catch it when it comes to your head
Or you'll pass out with the overdose of blood
Bottle it for resale and get back to me for more details

MI dreamin' or is this a great poem and only one person has responded so far?
MI the only other one who's going to respond to this decent poem?

Well done, Mr. Intruder.

Thanks for thinking so.

Masked Intruder, I feel like I have just been run over by a wild tornado...talk about anadrenilin rush! This poem builds and forces the reader to move faster to keep up with its pace so they can reach the end...I did reach the end, made it to the finish line but all out of breath! This is a wonderful poem...insightful and thought provoking and damn inspirational! I enjoyed riding that tornado...great stuff! :-)

And Beki,
He whipped this thing out in 10 or 15 minutes while me and deperado were fighting over the one computer available!
Come on M.I., kick down some fresh lines, don't me me come there and squeeze 'em out of you!!!

Wow! This was extremely well said and done. This is advice I think I needed to hear tonight. Thank you.

Either way, you have done a lovely job with this.
