He wonders often what it is That makes her want to stay; What does she see that others can't -For others turned away. No, it can't be wealth or status -He's but a simple man And the dreams of youth have vanished -Yes, ev'ry single plan. He never thought that looks were his -She tends to disagree And he could be more romantic -But sure - he tries to be. And his hair once fine and golden Is turning thin and gray And the strength of youth is waning -And more - each passing day. Then he asks her one day - plainly "Just why do you still care?" She just looks at him and smiles "I've found a treasure rare!" ...A gentle soul won't fade away -It's as the purest gold For it won't decay or tarnish -And never shall grow old. ------------------ Denise |

Denise...I am absolutely floored by the magnitude of this piece. It is esqusite indeed. Wonderfully written and so moving in its subject matter.
