Lord, give me a life
I can be proud to live,
where I make a difference
for some when no one did.

Lord, give me a life
where I'm honored to serve
with your guidance and permission.
For this I ask, "don't I deserve."

Lord, give me a life
allow me to be Your tool.
Not to be another man's slave
and not someone's fool.

Lord, give me a life
I can share joy and laughter,
perception and wisdom,
an angel in disaster.

Lord, give me a life
where no man has been
helping me overcome
mortal sin.

Lord, give me a life
that all I desire
is to follow You
through the thickest fire.

Today a man discovered gold and fame,
Another flew the stormy seas;
Another set an unarmed world aflame,
One found the germ of a disease.
But what high fates my path attend;
For I-today-I found a friend.
