I was challenged by the deVine one to write a poem using the phrase "She waited for the bus each day, but never got on"...and this is what came out.

She walks around the city blocks
And takes so very long.
She waited for the bus each day
But never she got on.

Her face is blank and staring,
She looks but does not see.
One day while in the city
She said these words ro me:

"Don't judge a man until you've walked
Two miles in his shoes."
She then walked down the city block
And left me there to muse.

Some people say she's crazy,
That she lost it long ago.
But I do not agree with them
Because the truth I know.

That day while in the city
She had shown me otherwise.
We all judge much too quickly
I have come to realize.

So next time you meet with someone
That you think has gone insane
Try to get ahold of
That runaway thought train.

Don't judge a man until you've walked
Two miles in his shoes.
As she left me to think that day
I now leave YOU to muse!

You lived up to the challange well. What a thought we should all heed. The Indians say "Do not judge a man until you have walked a mile in his moccasans" Very wise advice.

It turned out different than the way I thought it would! At first, I was just going to write about a crazy lady, but then the phrase came into my head. So this is how it turned out. Thank you, Hoot and Poet deVine!
