A winding brook babbles happily by.
In clusters, purple iris rears it's head
The smell of lilac is making me sigh.
My eyes open on where this journey lead.

The brook splashes it's way into a pond.
Spreading ripples hurry away from this.
Gently the breeze slightly moves each fern frond.
Sunlight touches water with morning's kiss.

A multitude of birds cry out their song.
In the distance a single loon laments.
A mourning dove cries out sadly and strong.
Blue jays scream to me of their discontents.

Morning's last mist still clings around the shore.
Willow trees hang out over the water.
Framed against the sky an eagle does soar.
Around the pond there cavorts an otter.

Red-winged blackbirds sing from cattail perches.
Fish announce their presence with their rises.
A questing fox for his breakfast searches.
Dragonflies swarm in all hues and sizes.

The spicy scent of cedar fills the air.
Underneath lies an earthen aroma.
With quick motion the fox startles a hare.
The peace here permeates mind and soma.

With lightened heart I turn back down the trail.
My heart is glad I have stumbled on this.
Lady slippers rise up so pink and frail.
Nature's embrace now cradles me in bliss.

Very nice imagery in this one Dream.....you brought nature to life in your words. Nicely done.

Can you please tell me how to get to this place you have painted with words? I really want to be there, now that you have told me in such beautiful detail how pleasing it is.

Out of all the pieces I've read of yours, this has absolutely got to be one of your best...You, my sir, certainly have talent far beyond the norm....you've certainly graced us with this piece! I'm in awe at your ability with imagery and rhythm.....exquisite!! Where do you pull these from ? Your mind has got to be full of many treasures.....on and on and on I could go, but I'll quit before your head gets too big for your hat!!

'Tis truly my pleasure to know my humble words have sparked such joy.

Tara, as for a "fan club", I will not deny that I enjoy the attentions of the Ladies, but it is the enjoyment of my verse that normally concerns me, not the attention it brings.

I'm not complaining, mind you.
