I knew the trees were green,
But they really weren't.
A blue haze covered them like a mantle.
Blue is for heat.

I knew the sky was blue,
But it really wasn't.
A white haze rose from the horizon like smoke.
White is for heat.

I knew the sun was white,
But it really wasn't.
The hazy sky had turned it gray.
Gray is for heat.

I knew my life was wonderful,
But it really wasn't.
My doubts had turned it dark.
There is no heat in darkness.

Real life is filled with colors.
Colors can be changed with heat.
But, they are still colors.
There are no colors where there is doubt.

Belle! You sent me an email? Really? I never get any emails, so this is a special treat. How did you know I love email? It means so much to me to know that somebody cares enough about how I feel to take a few minutes out of his or her busy day to let me know I am worth a few seconds of encouragement. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I see some of us are becoming a bit more philosophical with time/age/wisdom. Giving ol' 'Deer a run for his pennies. Good job, LJA!!!

That's right, LngJhn. You'll never catch me...in the age department. Your poetry, however, is very enviable and admirable. This was excellent.
