Sleep With God Tonight

I am worn out and at wits end,
I am tired of my life trying to defend.
The day's frustrations have me ready to scream,
Any happiness for the future seems an untouched dream.

As the day is over and I try to sleep,
And I pray for help, for my sanity to keep,
An angel of God comes and sits beside me,
And gently says, "Let God help set you free."

"Close your eyes and sleep with God tonight,
Praying to God to hold you tight.
Ask God to let you feel His love through the sheet,
As He assists you into a restful sleep.

Then tomorrow morning you can fare the new day,
With love in your heart and frustrations washed away,
And with Him beside you, you can go on ahead,
And at the end of the day peacefully crawl into bed."

Well said! I just gave this theme/message to another poet just a moment ago. Truer words were never spoken!
