She looks up at him
Smiles
Takes in her last breath
Which sounds like a sigh of relief
Closes her eyes
And dies peacefully in his arms
He rocks her gently in his arms
Like a baby
Not believing she is gone
His tears cannot bring her back
Nor his kisses
Nor his warm embraces
Nor the way he plays with her hair
He scolds himself for not protecting her
Or loving her more
Or trusting her more
He looks down at her
And gives a weak smile
Knowing that she's happier now
Wherever she may be
He knows he gave her everything
She could ever want from him
Love
Acceptance
And nothing more
He'll never find another woman like her
As his tears fall onto her face
He kisses her cheek
As one last goodbye
And whispers in her ear
"I love you forever."

A tear jerker! This was sad, but yet beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
