I feel like a lion
When it paces the cage.
With pent up frustrations
And feelings of rage.

Such mixed emotions
Don't know what to do.
And no understanding
When I explain them to you.

Things that are happy
Instead make me cry.
And what should bring joy
Brings tears to my eyes.

I try to explain it
Just don't know how.
Even I don't understand
These feelings I've now.

They give me no warning
Come out of the blue.
I'm down in the dumps
And lash out at you.

They seem to flood over
Like waves in the sea.
These feelings of sadness
Just wash over me.

I feel so depressed
For no reason it seems.
The tears will start flowing
In river and streams.

I can't explain it
No reason to give.
Hope when it passes
That you will forgive.

We do that sometimes, don't we? No rhyme...no reason...we lash out at those who deserve it the least and don't know why. And yes, we hope they'll forgive us afterward.Good thoughts.

Loved the last stanza ... who among us can say they've never had to think that very same thing?

Thank you ... I enjoyed this.

WhtDove, you and I had a simular thought today.
I posted "Stuck In Emotion". Even our ending
was a simular thought...how bazzar!
GOOD WORK.

Its hard sometimes to understand why we feel depressed for no reason at all, but it does happen
I really enjoyed the poem WhtDove, Well done!

Like they say, "We always tend to hurt the ones we love most" Lucky for us that most times the are also the most forgiving

this was nice........i understand what is like to want to break away from sadness. but sometimes, she just acts like an old friend and keeps you down. and sometimes, you don't leave her side. i hope that your efforts succeed

Excellent poem, WhtDove!! I know there are days when my cats scurry for hidey holes when I tear through the house! LOL. And then they venture out, only to be soaked with my tears.
